About Tangle Tower
Dating back more than 150 years, Tangle Tower is a striking building situated on the banks of the Moray Firth, a stones throw from the Scottish Highland Capital Inverness.
A unique building which over the years has served various purposes – During the Victorian era is was refered to as ‘The Watchtower’ – it has been used as both an observation tower during the War and as a Coastguard station, where boats were launched right out of what is now the kitchen straight into the sea. The building recently underwent a huge renovation project, taking 2 years to complete. It now boasts a contemporary interior that embraces many of the original features.
Located right on the shores of the Moray Firth, looking out with panoramic views across to the Kessock Bridge and beyond, it is an enviable location, a stones throw from Inverness – the capital city of the Scottish Highlands and with easy links (or a short walk) to the city centre, it is a great place to begin to explore, or indeed to re-visit the area.
You will find a local convenience store nearby whilst further amenities including a bakery and pharmacy can be found on Grant Street.
The building lay in a neglected state for years until its recent agreeable renovation, updating and preserving a locally loved historical building bringing it back into use (discover more about Tangle Towers history).
